CE Marking and Product Standards
At Stone Paving Supplies Ltd, we take product quality and compliance seriously. Many of our products are covered by harmonised standards under the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) and, where applicable, carry the CE or UKCA mark as evidence that they meet these essential requirements. CE marking demonstrates that a product has been assessed and meets EU safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. In the UK, the UKCA mark has replaced CE marking for most construction products. We ensure that all products requiring these designations are fully tested and certified by accredited laboratories. Our manufacturing partners provide supporting documentation, such as Declarations of Performance (DoPs), which are available on request.
We work only with suppliers who share our commitment to quality assurance and legal compliance. Through independent testing and factory audits, we confirm that our paving products meet or exceed technical expectations in the following areas: compressive strength, water absorption, frost resistance, slip/skid resistance, dimensional accuracy and surface finish. These standards ensure that the materials we supply are suitable for use in a wide range of settings, including public spaces, commercial landscapes, and private gardens. By insisting on compliance at every stage, we help our merchant customers and their clients install with confidence, knowing the materials are safe, durable, and fit for purpose.
Ethical Trading and Responsible Sourcing
We believe that good business is about more than just good products. It’s about doing the right thing — for people, communities, and the environment. That’s why ethical trading is central to how we operate at Stone Paving Supplies Ltd.
We are committed to building a transparent, responsible supply chain that supports fair treatment, safe working conditions, and environmentally conscious practices. We do not tolerate exploitation or negligence in any form. Our expectations apply not just to our direct suppliers, but to everyone involved in the production and delivery of our goods — from quarry to customer.
We seek out long-term partnerships with factories and suppliers who demonstrate respect for human rights. This includes no child labour, no forced or bonded labour, and ensuring all workers are employed voluntarily and treated with dignity and respect. Working conditions must comply with local laws, provide adequate protection and training, and ensure workers are not exposed to hazardous conditions without proper safeguards. Wages must meet or exceed national legal standards. Overtime must be voluntary and paid fairly. Workers must receive proper time off and rest periods. All employment decisions must be made fairly and without regard to gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, or background. Suppliers should also have policies in place to reduce energy use, minimise waste, and avoid damage to local landscapes and ecosystems.
To support this, we maintain an Ethical Sourcing Policy that all suppliers are expected to sign up to. We conduct regular assessments and audits, either directly or via trusted third-party agents. Where concerns are raised, we prefer to work with suppliers to fix them rather than walk away. We favour long-term relationships over short-term deals, as these allow us to build mutual trust and accountability. We also engage with our logistics and freight providers to ensure every part of the journey is consistent with our values.
We are proud to say that many of our supply partners have worked with us for years and have demonstrated their commitment to fair, safe, and responsible trade.
Why This Matters
The decisions we make about sourcing and product compliance reflect our values as a business. We want our customers — whether they’re builders' merchants, landscapers, or homeowners — to know that when they buy from Stone Paving Supplies Ltd, they’re buying from a company that takes its responsibilities seriously. We know that every stone slab, tile, and paving product has a journey behind it. Our job is to make sure that journey is one we can all be proud of.
